  3. FIR Promotion guidelines (Mario)
    1. Discussed a working document being developed in EDL.
    2. Request that the Faculty Chair constitute a Faculty-in-Residence task force that:
      1. Review and suggest changes to P&T policies and procedures (as they relate to promotion).
      2. Review and suggest changes to College Merit policies and procedures.
  4. Updated standing committee listings (Kendall)
    1. Shared with committee how C&I Web site supports committee activities.
    2. Shared with the committee unlvcoe.net.
    3. Discussed organization of the bylaws section of the site.

  5. Discussed Standing committees
    1. Need for description consistency 
      1. Bylaws must include the structure and purpose
        1. Purpose
        2. Membership / Election
        3. Chair selection
      2. Some items are specifically referred to in UNLV Bylaws as being relegated to unit bylaws.
        1. Procedures such as those involved in P&T, Merit and Peer Review must be described in bylaws
        2. Other procedures do not necessarily require approval of the faculty and can be considered operational.
        3. Next step . . . review appendix B
